When looking at logs, what does it mean when it is just randomly downloading files that aren’t being played? such as

It means that something is accessing the file doing an analyze. rclone itself doesn’t download or do anything.

Depends on your preference. If you use Plex for instance and want to cut back on these requests, you could disable (some) “scheduled tasks” in server settings. I did, because I don’t need constant analyzing (that will happen before playback starts anyway).

Normal is a strong word. I normally disable all those extra server settings as I want want plex to analyze or do anything unless I configure it.

So I added a 2nd server and started building the library with over 50k items in it (VFS). Now I’m getting 403 downloadQuotaExceeded errors and I can’t stream anything. I know, I feel like an idiot. I tried creating a 2nd set of OAuth credentials but that didn’t work. I know I could just wait out the 24 hour ban but is there another temporary fix?

Could I create a 2nd user and share the folder with that user. Create new OAuth credentials for that user and then use them on the server? Would this solve the problem?

Solved. Turns out using new OAUth credentials did work, just needed to restart the mount.

it is possible to slow down the plex scan with one delay each movie/episode to 10 seconds. ?

from a certain number of files and a scan or analysis I get the message again and again “Error 403: The download quota for this file has been exceeded” so it is no fun with gdrive.

If you are getting that error, you are most likely on an old version of rclone as the download quota exceeded is an issue with older versions.

You’d want to remove the drive-v2-download-min-size as that seems to correlate to issues with that error.

The acd-templink-threshold is for Amazon drive so that can be removed as well.

fast-list can be removed as it doesn’t do anything for a mount.
