Fail to start RClone VFS Service

So when you type what I had pasted in and if you

cat /home/howardgillespie/scripts/rclone.log

There is no file?

correct no file. I just added the following into scripts

howardgillespie@vmi346374:~/scripts$ rclone --log-file=mylogfile.txt

When you make changes, it's hard to follow and figure out what you are doing.

If you paste what I had shared, it either generates a no log file like my output or if there is an error it writes to the log file or runs which doesn't return a command prompt.

I can't tell what you are typing or what you've changed so you'd have to share the full command you are running and the full output.

You want to change --log-file to have a path to it.

So if you can reshare all the details again with the output, that is where we are.

gotcha.

howardgillespie@vmi346374:~$ /home/howardgillespie/rclone.log
-bash: /home/howardgillespie/rclone.log: No such file or directory
howardgillespie@vmi346374:~$ cd /home/howardgillespie/scripts
howardgillespie@vmi346374:~/scripts$ rclone.log
rclone.log: command not found
howardgillespie@vmi346374:~/scripts$ rclone --log-file=mylogfile.txt
howardgillespie@vmi346374:~/scripts$

You need to paste exactly what is here:

cat /home/howardgillespie/scripts/rclone.log

done. I had to replace hyperlinks with [link]

howardgillespie@vmi346374:~$ cat /home/howardgillespie/scripts/rclone.log

howardgillespie@vmi346374:~$

You need to edit that file and remove the comment before user_allow_other and re-run your mount command repost the log file.

howardgillespie@vmi346374:~$ /etc/fuse.conf
-bash: /etc/fuse.conf: Permission denied
howardgillespie@vmi346374:~$

As the root user you need to edit the file with something like:

vi /etc/fuse.conf

If you have some friend or someone that can assist with some basic Linux stuff, that would help out a lot.

thank you, I didn't know about config files until yesterday.. I know I'll retain what I've learnt but there's so much.. No friends with that much patience..

This is the error while editing:

howardgillespie@vmi346374:~$ vi /etc/fuse.conf

be careful not to end up with two different instances of the same

This might help as you need to edit that file:

Thank, I did a re-install.. Cleaned up everything

  1. edited fuse, looks good
